M.I.A. was born in London, England in 1975 and then moved to Sri Lanka when she was an infant. She is a controversial artist and it is really no surprise that she would give the finger at the Super Bowl Game this year. It was so quick that NBC was unable to block it out in time and over 111 million people saw it.
Madonna is lashing out at M.I.A. for giving the finger. She is upset about it and called it a crude gesture. That is kind of funny coming from Madonna, as we all know her sordid past. She is far from innocent herself.
Really, is it such a big deal that M.I.A. gave the finger anyway. There have been so many worse things happening in the Super Bowl in the past, such as Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction. Nowadays it is nothing to hear celebrities swear on television and talk about sex and drugs. Why is the media giving such attention to this act anyway? It was just a finger.
There should be more attention on world events and children going hungry in the world. Why do we care at all that a celebrity has given the finger?
