BAFTA’s chairman Tim Corrie was joined by Holliday Grainger and Daniel Radcliffe when making the announcement of these years British Academy Film Awards nominees. The renowned artist got 12 nominations, Hugo received nine nominations, the soldier spy, Tinker Tailor received 11 nominations, and my week with Marilyn has six nominations whereas War Horse and The Help were both nominated five times each. The Descendants completed the Best Film Line up with The Help and Drive. Hugo was nominated for Editing, Cinematography, Original music, production design, sound and special visual effects, make up and hair and Costume Design. Martin Scorsese got nominations for Director and was also a nominee for George Harrison Documentary category.
George Clooney received nominations as the leading actor for The Descendants film which was as well a nominee in the adapted screenplay and for the Best Film. For the leasing actress category, Michelle Williams is the first nominee for my Week in Marilyn where she joins her co-stars Judi Dench and Kenneth Branagh. The film was also a nominee in Make up& hair, outstanding British Film and Costume Design. For her turn in The Help, Viola Davis is a nominee for the leading actress category alongside her co stars Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain who received nominations for supporting actresses. There were also other nominees in the event taken place on Sunday 12 February. The ceremony was at the royal Opera House, Covert Garden, London. The film award is being sponsored by Orange’s Sponsorship for the fifteenth year.
